Holy Communion

The Sacrament of the Eucharist is the second Sacrament of Initiation into the Catholic Church – the first being Baptism.

Children in Year 4 or above, who have made their First Reconciliation, are invited to receive their First Holy Communion.  This takes place in our parish at a special Mass and children must dress respectfully but must remember that their First Holy Communion is about receiving Jesus for the first time – not about what they wear.

At the beginning of the school year, parents are informed about the intended programme.  Notices are placed in the Bulletin and in the school newsletter.

Parents are required to bring their children along to Mass during this time as information is dispersed and enrolment procedures are undertaken.  Parents need to complete the enrolment and family details form and return this to the school or Catechism programme.
