SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME (CATECHIST)

Members of this group of Catechists hold Catechism classes for children attending other than Catholic schools.  These Catechists are volunteers of the Parish, accredited with the Archdiocese Catechist Service and hold a mandatory Working with Children card.

These class are held each Tuesday of the school term between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm in the Good Shepherd School. In keeping with the guidelines of the Archdiocese,  children are prepared for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Communion, Confirmation and also General Catechesis and they receive these Sacraments in conjunction with the Good Shepherd School children.

CLEANING MINISTRY

This Ministry is as important as other Ministries of the Church.  In order to keep the church clean and presentable as a place of worship,  groups of five volunteers are rostered once every six weeks to wipe and dust the pews, vacuum the floor, sweep the surrounds of the church and clean the toilets.  This cleaning takes place after the morning Mass on a Saturday and usually takes about 45 minutes to complete.  Cleaning may be done at an alternative time if all group members are agreeable.
