I am Mark Powell the Principal of Good Shepherd Catholic School and I welcome you to our website. We believe in building a safe, inclusive and secure learning community in which all children can develop a sense of belonging and wellbeing. The Good Shepherd Catholic School vision is to be a community in faith growing together to be a model of Jesus Christ. We are guided by the traditions and beliefs of the Catholic Church, we strive to foster the development of the total child, integrated faith, life and culture. We acknowledge many gifts within one spirit.
Our professional and collegial teachers, supported by a wonderful administrative staff, are committed to continually improving their teaching practice and using their expertise to create balanced and challenging learning programs tailored to the needs of each student. A wide variety of in-school and extra curricula programs enhance student learning.
Students, staff, parents and community members are encouraged to participate in all aspects of school life and in the decisions of the school. Parents are valued as true partners in the education of their children, contributing their initiative, energy, time and expertise to the school.
Our school year is full of major highlights, special events which we value and celebrate together as a school community. But along with these, I hope that, as a school, we provide our students with small highlights every day they come to school – something they feel they have done well, a new thing they have learned, something they feel they have improved at -and that these highlights are celebrated with their classmates, their teachers and their families.
We are very proud of our wonderful school and I invite you to explore our new and exciting website. Our school community is made up of 42 different nationalities, and a range of wonderful people who come together to learn, work and play.
I welcome the opportunity to provide more information about our school. Please feel free to visit our school for enrolment information and/or ring the school office to make an appointment to meet with me.
God Bless
Mark Powell
Principal
